How is Net Transcripts different from court reporting or other types of transcription?
Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement transcription is all that we do. We don't process medical or entertainment transcription, nor are we court reporters. It is not necessary to use certified court reporters for the transcription of investigative interviews, interrogations or narratives. To do so is unnecessarily more expensive.

Accuracy and reliability are crucial for Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement transcription. Our personnel are highly skilled in the specific language, nuances and procedures required for the substantially more difficult and demanding task of such transcription.

What is Web-based transcription?
Web-based transcription allows you to send us your audio files over the Internet the same as you would send any other digital file, such as a photo, etc. However, you must do so using our proprietary and encrypted Web-based Order Center or our secure and automated FTP transfer process. Your audio files are transcribed and the completed transcripts are then available to retrieve via the same FTP or Web-based Order Center. Once downloaded, the transcript can be printed, filed away in archival storage or integrated with most existing Record Management Systems (RMS).

The entire process is as safe, convenient and as easy to use as the click of a mouse. It is also much more secure than allowing your recorded media to be physically transferred to another location for processing. With our service, there is no need to make a copy and then have it picked up or delivered, all of which just adds to the risk of loss, damage or interception.

(In addition to transcribing digital audio delivered to us via our secure web connection, Net Transcripts can also transcribe audio from any media sent to us via mail or delivery service. All material sent to us is returned once transcription has been completed.)

How secure is your Web-based transcription process?
Our proprietary and encrypted Web-based Order Center and our automated FTP transfer process allows for the safe transfer of your audio files to us for transcription and for the return of your completed transcripts, making our service much more secure than allowing your recorded media to be physically transferred to another location for processing. With Net Transcripts, there is no need to make a copy and then have it picked-up or delivered, all of which adds to the risk of loss, damage or interception.

When utilizing our Web-based Order Center, the transfer of your audio files to us for transcription and the return of your completed transcripts is authenticated and encrypted using Secure Socket Layers (SSL) protocol. SSL assures the same message privacy and integrity as an online banking transaction. Simply log on to your account using your unique user name and password.

Everyone at Net Transcripts understands the need for confidentiality and chain of custody security. All transcriptionists (independent contractors) and in-house personnel have received an extensive criminal background check. They are also legally bound by a comprehensive confidentiality agreement that was created specifically for the work that Net Transcripts performs.

Net Transcripts is judicious in its selection of personnel and independent contractors, contractually engaging less than 1% of all applicants. All personnel and contractors must pass our in-depth screening and qualification process, and adhere to our stringent security protocols and procedures. Net Transcripts maintains long-standing and mutually beneficial relationships with its highly qualified and reliable personnel and contractors.
